Where did you guys install the GPS antenna? (Ecspecially the AVIC-D1)

Where did you guys install the GPS antenna? (Ecspecially the AVIC-D1)
I have a Visteon after market GPS unit (Now sold by Horizon Navigation) in one of my TCs. The antenna is mounted on the very front of the dashboard top panel, giving it unobstructed access to the sky, while protecting it from possible damage from outside elements.

Where did you guys install the GPS antenna? (Ecspecially the AVIC-D1)

I have the D1 and I put it on the dash all the next to the windshield.

Eclipse AVN5495. Highly recommend it. I didnt do my own install and seriously doubt many of have either. Antenna is somewhere in the dash or under it. Very accurate. The installers tell me they almost never install in the trunk.

my antenna is on the right hand corner of the dash, right under the windshield...

I have the D-1 and highly recommend it, The antenna is in the same spot as the pictures above, i also got the ipod adaptor,xm with the navtraffic, and an external dvd player. The guys at the shop fabbed up a custom bracket to fit it in the dash, i would like to see how everyone else's looks.

That is a VERY nice sounding set up. Did they do the simple mod so you can use all the NAV features while in motion?
