Anyone know how to shut off my Mileage comp on a 2000 V8 sport?

On my 2004, I just push the FUEL button on the center stack. It has three modes: miles to empty, average mileage, and off.

I am not sure on my LS, but on my Mystique (no electronic display) I removed the speedo fuse once, the speedo was working but the odometer didn't turn. I don't think that you can do it that way, but I am sure there are plenty of people who car do that, but maybe with help of some electronical equipment.

Good way to end up in jail or be working for years to pay off the fine...which you should be if you try and pull this off.
