Cat gutting?MarkVIII93 February 13th, 2006, 02:10 PM Has anyone here had their cats gutted? If so, Did you get a CEL anytime after? Will this effect my 02 sensors? Jibit February 13th, 2006, 02:36 PM I've heard of a couple of people gutting them without a problem. The only problem you may have with your O2's is if they don't heat up enough because of the high flow capacity. MarkVIII93 February 13th, 2006, 03:23 PM thanks brudda chickenviii February 13th, 2006, 03:59 PM 02's will be fine but your cat monitors will go "cattywhompus"(yes its a technical term) those are the 02's that are downstreem from the cats. summitt sells mil eliminators i dont know if they work or not though but thats where they are for Jibit February 13th, 2006, 04:08 PM that's only on the Gen 2's, by looking at his sig he's got a Gen1 1wykdmk8 February 13th, 2006, 04:11 PM You are COMPLETELY wasting your time gutting your cats. The amount of improvement over stock is SO small it is NOT worth it. chickenviii February 13th, 2006, 04:13 PM gen one only have 1 set of o2's and no cat monitors? MarkVIII93 February 13th, 2006, 04:16 PM You are COMPLETELY wasting your time gutting your cats. The amount of improvement over stock is SO small it is NOT worth it. Im looking for a louder, raspier exhaust tone. Not neccessarily more hp. Jibit February 13th, 2006, 04:17 PM That's right, no O2's behind the cats lincolnboy February 13th, 2006, 04:22 PM Im looking for a louder, raspier exhaust tone. Not neccessarily more hp. get dual... chickenviii February 13th, 2006, 04:27 PM That's right, no O2's behind the cats damn you gen 1 guys are lucky:( 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC February 13th, 2006, 04:33 PM What about the 96? Its OBDII like the Gen II MarkVIII93 February 13th, 2006, 04:35 PM get dual... Durr...... I already have daul exhaust..... 2.5" from the cats back, into a d/d magnaflow(perforated tru-x core). chickenviii February 13th, 2006, 04:38 PM let me check on the 96 i dont think obdII matters for that 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC February 13th, 2006, 04:41 PM let me check on the 96 i dont think obdII matters for that That'd be cool. Y would you want it louder.. ditch the magnaflow and get a flowmaster d.i/d.o. MarkVIII93 February 13th, 2006, 05:22 PM Y would you want it louder.. ditch the magnaflow and get a flowmaster d.i/d.o. I want it louder cause its my car and I will do what I want with it. If you knew anything, youd know that flowmasters dont flow for sh1t, and they're too expensive. I payed 79.95 for a d/d muffler, Their single 40 series are the same price and sound like sh1t. 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC February 13th, 2006, 05:22 PM Probably get alot of cabin noise. Theres a tad bit of drone, but I like the overall sound of it. I just want it to be louder and raspier. 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC February 13th, 2006, 06:54 PM Cool, thanks. Dominus February 13th, 2006, 08:44 PM It's gonna sound like crap, but do what you want. MarkVIII93 February 13th, 2006, 09:09 PM It's gonna sound like crap, but do what you want.
