Ok,how many people would be interested in a North East meet? I live in upstate NY so that's probably where I would start, however I'm open to opinions.

It's not really show, per se. It's just a bunch of people (mainly kids like was said) that hang in various parking lots along DPA. I was there a few months ago with a few VII guys.

The show out in Bald Hill is a little bit of a hike for me, especially being during the week with traffic and whatnot. My friend Nick (who has a 94 VIII) was there a few weeks ago and said that it was HUGE.

One of the hardest things I've found when trying to organize an activity for a group of people is that you can't satisfy everyone. Someone will have some reason they can't make the meet or activity, and someone will not like the plan.

The big problem that is happening is time. You are trying to plan a meet in about a 4 week time period. For many that's not enough time. Especially for those who would have to drive more than 3 hrs for the meet. Not everyone is a hard nose driver who don't mind busting @$$ on the road. Some traveling 3+ hrs will need a place to stay the night also. This will take time and money. I know a few in the Midwest are youth (18 - 25) money isn't always available for the longer haul.

I would suggest that you take your date and keep it. It sound like you have a good group saying that they are coming. Go for it.

I feel that once we start these meets they will grow. I also feel that we will have more smaller meets with in our Chapter areas as many who can't travel the greater distance will start getting together closer to home, and this will cause other meets to grow, as they will plan to make the bigger chapter meets.

This sight has grown very fast in a very short period of time (Thanks Joey and all admin who have put forth great efforts to make this site what it is). Getting these meets together is a big step and will take time. By next summer I would bet that we will be seeing meets with 5 x's the number of members showing up as we all get more involved and more organized.

I had a great time getting to physically meet the members of the Midwest Chapter that showed up last weekend. Although rain spoiled the meet for some those that show up had a great time and I will bet they will be very active at future meets.

Also as more members discuss the fun they had at the meets they attend this will spark the interest of other members.

I would guess that as Chapter leaders are assigned more meets will be placed on the calendar further in the year where more organization such as lodging for more distant members may be arranged, and members have time to put away some cash for the meet. Maybe even discounts at places where LvC members stay. (I know I can get this done at place in the Wisconsin Dells Area – Already thinking of a Midwest Spring Meet – LOL – Joey I have an Italian friend who’ll make us a great offer – LOL)

As for a meet in that involves me driving to far i don't think i chould make it until some of the work on the mark is done. I will be going to the beer wholesalers convention from Sept. 10th till Sept. 16th, but other than that if you want to meet up I live only about 20 mins max from Catskill.

you would be better off parking by the southeast corner

Can I get directions from Upstate?im not sure where you are but ill try. if you can get to the nys thruway take it to the tapan zee bridge cross it stay on your right side do not go off exit 8 continue downt to the major deegan expressway (it becomes it automatically from the thruway) take that across the triboro bridge. now you are on the east bound grand central parkway take that to the south bound vanwyck expressway from there take the eastbound belt parkway to the sunrise highway exit from there take sunrise highway straight about 10 miles until you see a sign that says "welcome to the bellmores") then keep going straight a little more to the train station on your left it will say bellmore station and you should see a few or more muscle cars then just look for a bunch(hopefully) of lincolns and caddies.

Directions for others.
George Washington Bridge to Throgs Neck Bridge.
Cross Island Pkwy south to Southern State pkwy east.
Get off at Wantagh pkwy south (exit 26 ?)
to Sunrise hwy west.
Train station is less then 1 mile on
Sunrise hwy + Bellmore rd.
Plan on some traffic,
but It should be worth it if you want to smell Cam II and see cars with slicks
all night.

No,
The train tracks run along sunrise hwy.
If in the unlikly event that we get kicked out,
just make a right (west) on Sunrise Hwy and go about 1 or 2 miles
to the next train station.
They are big staions with big lots,
so won't miss them.
