My wife wanted to see the mountains so I took her and my Mark VIII for a 2K mile road tirp to Rocky Mountain National Park -

Wife love the mountains, this was her first time seeing them.

For her first mountain experience I took her through Thompson Caynon - Wow did see love the view. I even gave her the the privileage of dirving through the canyon. She had to give up the wheel as she wanted to spend mor time looking than driving.

From there it was up up and up to the top.

Even took in a car show in Estes Park.

Just a few quick notes on the Mark VIII's opion of the road trip -

27 to 28+ MPG at 80+ mph on I-80

24 to 25+ MPG traveling the mountain roads

No porblems with power in the mountains.

The Mark VIII loved the trip - has now 163K+ miles.

Both Wife and Mark Want go go back.

Congratulations on the road trip. Looks like it was a good time. The Marks are certainly the kings of the road trip. At least for 2 people. Wouldn't want to be in the back seat.

Would love to bring the wife. She'd have a blast but she has to do some school shopping yet with one of our 3 teens so she's out.

I might be bringing my son!

The Colorado trip was a blast, took over 300 pics. No I won't post them LOL.

I never spent a lot of time in the National Park Area like we did last week.

Usually I'm on my Bike and don't have enough time as I will put 5K miles or more on, on a Bike ride.

We were able to take some trails and got some excellent pics of the Head waters of the Colorado River, and also found some cool off raod spots where we had a lot of fun.

If you ever get a chance US Hwy 40 through Winter Park from US Hwy 34 south Granby to the interstate is one of the best Hwys I have ever driven. Nice mountain pass takes you up and over the mountains. Lots of fun in the Mark, would be excellent on a bike.
