loss of sound in rear speakers

Ok so about a week ago I was listening to my stock stereo about 70% volume and the rear speakers started cutting out. Now they produce almost no sound at all and the amp (or something) just makes a humming noise all the time. I took it to the dealer and they couldnt find anything wrong. So I go to pick it up today and it still has the same problem after about 90 seconds of operation. Has anyone had this problem before? The boys at the dealer dont seem too ambitious about tearing into the wiring so I'm looking for any hints to throw at them for possible solutions. Thanks alot guys!!!

Time for some new speakers. Mine just went out the other day too! Sad! Almost full volume and barely any sound. Or it could be your wiring.

well the car is an '05 so I cant imagine the speakers being bad already. Has to be the amp or wiring. Hell maybe its the head unit itself, I have no idea at this point. All I know is that its the dealership's problem right now. I just wish they'd hurry up and fix it because I'm getting sick of driving around in a Towncar as my rental.
