Cougar Nuts (http://www.cougarnuts.com/board/showthread.php?t=14879)

I wonder what MarkVIII93 and Mr. Wilson will have to say after reading the posts.

Eh, I love the Marks as much as the next person, HOWEVER, the Cougar was a better overall car in most people's opinions. The Mark had several flaws that end up costing a lot to deal with, most noteably the subpar construction on the interior seen by chipping materials and panels simply falling off. If they aren't now, i'm sure they will start to. Also the air suspension, yet another component prone to failure. Check out the thread on "why Mark VIIIs suck" and make your own choice on what you want to do.

they need to be put on death row for such words!

This guy called my Mark VIII a Cougar one time and it really pissed me off, :mad:I was like "Hey dumb ass this is a Mark VIII". my sister also owned a 1994 cougar and I'll take my Mark VIII over it or any T-Bird.

Oh and that's all you can say LOL... after your defense of the Mark VIII vs the Mustang LOL... I thought you would join that forum and let them know where they belong! LOL...

Here's the Mark VIII's Suck thread (http://www.cougarnuts.com/board/showthread.php?t=10886&highlight=Mark+VIII+Sucks)

I still want to see those 3.8 Cougars eating up a Mark VIII. Also after about 90K the head gaskets go! Engine is toast.

Those are very old threads so I am not worrying about it. I have seen both crappy Mark's and Cougars, but I have seen good ones of both as well.

I almost bought a green 97' cougar with 45k and geezer green cloth interior. Im not going to bother joining and defending the mark 8. The guy is obviously younger(28), So im sure he probably rags on the car, goes over speed bumps at over 20mph, Picks and peels interior pieces, yanks on the door handles, etc. He cant prove that the mark viii's build is crappy, when really, he is the crappy owner.

hello dual overhead cam all aluminum cobra block, in a luxury car with all the bells and wisles vs a plain jane version without the bells and wisles and not even close under the hood, not to mention the mark just looks better. Cougars are nice but they dont cut it compared to a mark vlll...

Don't let the handle name fool you. Apparently, this is a typical Cougar fan. Notice in the bio: interests includes boys and the gender of the bio writer is a male. This could be Michael Jackson.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction (off topic):

"When director John Boorman was having trouble finding a talented actor who was also toothless for a key role in Deliverance (1972), co-star Burt Reynolds remembered Coward from having worked with him in a Wild West show in Maggie Valley, NC. Coward--who was not an actor and was toothless and illiterate-- arrived for his audition looking so perfect for the part of a rural mountain man that Boorman first thought Reynolds had prompted him on how to dress.

When director John Boorman explained to Coward that one of the things his character was going to do was to rape a man, Coward replied, "I've done worse."

Mark VIII's are by far better than Cougars in all aspects. I could see how some individuals who don't have a lot of money, would not want to buy a used Mark VIII due to costs for replacing the air bags and trans. That's about all that is wrong with the car. Although, I have seen a pretty sharp cougar a young fella was driving. Had 17" Cobra R's, lowered a bit, very clean, exhaust. Never thought a Cougar could look that good, although I could have had a eye twitch for a brief second..

i like how they get 70rwhp from exhaust maf and a tune...if i found that program, id stick with the mark! sounds to me like the cougar is the "better" car. But i guess comming from a cougar forum, they could be kinda biased :). Though thats a concept we are prolly unfamilear with here ::smirk::

Its not that people dont want it because they dont have a lot of money, even people with money would consider it a waste to have to replace major components like the trans and air suspension. (a little personal information...when i went to buy my mark, i had $9000 in the bank,(and not to mention the 2 years of paychecks from part time work) and now im dead broke. Gotta love repair bills)

She is a Hillary Clinton fan. Which proves without a doubt that she has absolutely no credibility at all. And she is' well she is a "SHE".(Sorry MS8MISTRESS) What the hell do the majority of woman know about cars. Everything on a womans car is either a "Thingy", "whatchamacallit", or a "doodad".

You beat the crap otu of yours... I'm 17 and i beat on it only in races and thats only once or twice a week and I have had nothing go wrong with mine except for what I knew was wrong when I bought it... obviously the person who had it before you treated it the same way if you spent that much on it

I will say that MSM8TRESS is an exception. A tremendous exception and should be the rule. Not many women have changed out a Mark VIII front suspension, like she has. Nor pulled off good parts off of a wrecked VIII before, as she has. Nor has there been a woman ever to offer any thing remote to tech support in my time of need, though she had great input and resources to follow up on and back up her suggestions. She is proof positive that there is no such thing as “all women are _______” (fill in the blank). I bet if you asked her right now about Trac-Lock or ring gears and selecting them, she’ll have the goods.
I agree to a good-natured ribbing for our MN-12 cousins. However lets not alienate our “own”.

Thank you, the ranting has left building.

:I with torquemonkey, MSM8TRESS is totally into cars and can do just about anything that needs to be done to her Mark VIII. Debi is not afriad to get dirty working on her car or anyone else'e car to help. I don't own a Mark VIII yet but when i do Debi will be one of the first people I turn to for help should i need it. Like torquemonkey said lets not alienate our own, Debi knows alot about cars!!!!!!!!!!

I test drove a 90 somthing SC thunder chicken, and it couldnt make it back to the dealer. I never noticed the temp light that was on and fried the engine due to a faulty fan switch. later I baught my Mk VIII by outbidding that same dealer LOL. Tturds and cuuders are ok for kids that like to race hondas and sometimes get a win. but thats just my opinion.:)

My old neighbor had a couger and drove it home with the Ebrake on if that is any indicator of the inteligence level of some people. the rear sounded like a bak full of broken glass OWWWW!

Ditto. I have driven T-Birds of every generation, I was even a President of a Thunderbird club for years. I love my Mark as much, if not more than any modern (1982-1996 & 200x) T-Bird (or Cougar). Style, power and smokin out little rice burners is too much fun in the Mark.
