just wondering if anyone thinks it would be a worth while investment, to have a custom set of headers fabbed up? Or is there an aftemarket set that would fit??

Headers???00ls5spd January 16th, 2006, 11:08 PM just wondering if anyone thinks it would be a worth while investment, to have a custom set of headers fabbed up? I wonder if they would direct bolt in place on the 00-02? What would the gain be? 00ls5spd January 16th, 2006, 11:30 PM I'm just thinking lower temps...possible minor HP gains w/ my exhaust.a noticable sound difference, yet not to overwhelming. Quik LS January 17th, 2006, 06:43 AM the question I ask it - how the heck do you get to them? 2001LS8Sport January 17th, 2006, 08:28 AM the question I ask it - how the heck do you get to them? LOL!! I hear that! I would hate to guess what it would cost to have Kooks or similar bend up a set of tubes. I can't imagine the time involved to get them to fit. On our Cobras, the best way to install headers is to just drop the K member while supporting the engine. It's just too hard to get to the bolts otherwise. 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC January 17th, 2006, 08:37 AM the question I ask it - how the heck do you get to them? Are you refering to the 03-up, Maybe the dealer(not that you didn't think of that), anyone ever try? I bet the cost would mute the point. And stiil, direct bolt on or cat. change too. I meant how do you get a wrench to them.... looks like you would have to pull the engine to get to it - like 2001LS8Sport said. 00ls5spd January 17th, 2006, 10:28 AM I meant how do you get a wrench to them.... looks like you would have to pull the engine to get to it - like 2001LS8Sport said. I hadn't thought of that, I figured an exhaust guy would know how to do it. I figured Quik would chime in since you have the most experience with dealing with the LS engine. Thanks for the input guys... 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC January 17th, 2006, 10:53 AM I meant how do you get a wrench to them.... looks like you would have to pull the engine to get to it - like 2001LS8Sport said. Read it wrong, sorry. I have yet to even look under the car. Pretty sad huh, few years back I'd build the car I drove. I guess we all evolve, I walked on all fours back then.:) | ||||
