About a year ago I stop turned the car of and went shopping. Came out and it wouldn't start. After cranking it over and over then letting it sit for a while it finally started. no problem until about 2 weeks ago same thing! Let it sit overnight started right up.was fine for another week. Then it happened again Friday. Any Ideas.

this same thing happens to my dads camaro, only his never starts at all. (in the process of gathering funds for tune-up).

the mechanic said it was a coil in the front of the engine that was shorting out, do to something with more ground taking all the current. my dad thinks its something with the plugs or full injectors.

but this might not be the same thing since urs starts and ours doesnt

we took it to the shop they put new wires to the coils. on the way home, it shut off in this intersection down in the bad bad part of town... im really pissed at chevy right now...

Crankshaft position sensor and it's wiring harness are the common culprits. While your at it, change the cam pos sensor, and clean the wiring harness contacts.

I just wanted to bring this back to the front. I'm still having the same problem. I'm going to look into 94m5 advice. But just wondering if anyone else had any other ideas?

I would reccomend you try those 1st. 99.9% of the complaints I have dealt with are caused by one or the other.

Sure it getting fuel? Might be a bad fuel pump. Although it could not be....

Nah, I doubt it HIGHLY. You would be suprised how easily a little corrosion can mess up the signal to the PCM. Remember, the sensors run at 5v signal level, and at VERY low amperage levels. Any corrosion on the terminals will cut down input to the pcm very easily.

O.K. Done. Crankshaft sensor is in. I truly hope that's it. Wasn't to bad even without a lift. They didn't have the cam sensor in stock but they ordered one for me. I really hope this is it. I'm so tired of getting rides home.
