Parden my ignorance but can't you just get the t-stat you deaire at the local parts store? Why the 160 Geno? To richen things up?

I tried at the local parts store and they could only give me a performance 192 t-stat. I ordered from SR.com for my 180.

AutoZone has all ranges of t-stat, and Advance has the Steeda's in all three temperatures as well. I am running a 180º in my VII and all is well. I doubt you will need to mail order one, as both places have never failed to be out of stock of any temperature thermostat for me.

Autozone is where I went. Do not have a Advance. . .

Any shop can get you the T-stat you want. I just get a motorcraft one since its easy and only about $7 with a business account. There are probably a few different makers of these things (no way hypertech, steeda or Ford makes their own) but I figure the motorcraft is probably a decent enough part.
