First make sure all connections are good to the battery.

Alternator still could be bad... Where did you get it from? A friend of mine put one on and it worked for a bit then died with in a week.

Check your cables from alt. Check terminals on battery.

Also, make sure they gave you the right alternator.
Check for crusty, corroded cables.

thanks guys! well im still working on the problem i got the alt from advanced auto there giving me a new one 2 morrow. there tester isnt so good it told me both the one i just pulled off my car and the new one where good. i took the guy out into the parking lot and pulled the ground cable off the battery and my car instantly died. so maybe it was a bad new alt. ill keep updating till its fixed

that doesn't work on newer cars, that'll actuall cause some damage by disconnecting the battery while the car is running.

I went through 3 different alternators for my fiends Expedition from Not So Advanced before we finally gave up and put one in from my favorite rebuild shop. And their testor said that every one of them was good. I had them test the one from the rebuild shop before we put it in the truck and it failed. But for some unknown reason, the one from the rebuild shop has been keeping his truck running for the past six months. Bad testor, bad tech, I do not know. But they seem to have an issue with testing batteries also.

got the new alt from advanced auto and has the old one they juse gave me tested and it ran fine then i tricked the guy and said i has another one i wanted to test so i went out and grabbed one i just tested and i took it in and it tested bad that time. the manager ordered me a new one yesterday so when i went there today i got my new replacement. came home bolted it up and it works fine. now all i have to do is buy a scan tool for future problems.

Theres a clickable in my signature. Same price for some quickie rebuilt crap. There are ONLY a few things that I will stick OEM with and the alternator is one of them. Our core charge is far less too.
