well! finaly it's over, i put a new tranny in all by my self. i made use of my brothers shop with a lift and this job wasn't teribly easy. first...the instructions never said anything about removing or lowering the gas tank to remove the drive shaft. someone should be smacked for that one....actually it was the actual ford directions so they need to review their manuals. anyway, finaly got it out, heavy sucker too. got the new used one...had water in it, lovely, so i cleaned the whole thing out, and got the tranny back in and the found one of the starter bolts were busted off when the guys took the new/used tranny out. also when i put it in, found i didn't get my tc all the way on...oops. this is after i bolted the whole thing on, and if anyone has done this, you know what a pain in the @$$ it is to bolt or unbolt that sucker. got it down, fixed the problems after having to drill for an hour on that because it was so hard. but bottom line, this homo got the job done alone haven't changed a tranny since about 12 years ago with my dad when i was 8 or so. yay, job done!
