I was at a stop light tonite when the check engine light illuminated. I checked the codes and it was a P0174 (System Too Lean(bank 2)). What should that lead me to look at?? Thanks.

Thanks. 02 sensors. chris January 7th, 2006, 01:49 AM Thats what I thought, but I wanted confirmation before going for it. I havent gotten a service book on this car yet, they have 4 O2 sensors right? And should I change all four? And should I change all four? depends on the year non-obd II only have 2, obd II's have 4. chris January 7th, 2006, 02:38 AM Mines a 98, hence OBD2. What I'm not sure of is should I change all 4 or is the likely culprit either the fronts or the rears....... JC1994 January 7th, 2006, 03:11 AM it's usually the rears that act up, I would change all 4. Jibit January 7th, 2006, 03:48 AM always change the o2's in pairs never one side and not the other chris January 7th, 2006, 08:55 AM Thanks for the tips, I appreciate it. Now I have to decide if want to do it myself in January in Rhode Island with no garage or pay someone else to do it. rmac694203 January 7th, 2006, 04:10 PM I hear the front O2's are a pain in the ass. danny_holtermann January 7th, 2009, 05:55 PM I hear the front O2's are a pain in the ass. they are actually really easy if you can get a lift chris January 7th, 2009, 06:40 PM Wow this post was resurrected 3 years to the day after I made it. FWIW my prob was a vacuum leak on thew IAC IIRC. kustomizingkid January 7th, 2009, 07:34 PM Holy Old thread! XLRVIII January 8th, 2009, 09:28 AM and "another" lean bank # problem solved that turned out to be a vacuum leak. This is getting more and more common with the lean codes.. Abbens January 8th, 2009, 01:07 PM Take it to a good technician to see if its really 02 sensors or a bad vacum leak danny_holtermann January 9th, 2009, 04:21 PM ya really didn't even notice the dats, pretty good huh kustomizingkid January 9th, 2009, 04:25 PM ya really didn't even notice the dats, pretty good huh Ohh really...
