I just purchased a 2005 Navigator ultimate. I got a very very good deal on it I think. This thing is sweet... very quick for a 6000lb vehicle. I am still getting to know this SUV. Are there any known problems , recalls and such that I need to be aware of?? When I get this thing detailed I will post some pictures.:D

I think the recalls only apply to the 01 and earlier Navigators, but I could be wrong... something with the cruise control button? Anywho, I wish they'd come out with another "Sean John" Navigator. :\

yes, the recall was for the 98-02 Navigators - so you don't have to worry.

Funny you said there is a recall for the Cruise control button on the 2001. I just found that my cruise control will not engage. I will have the dealer check it on my next service visit

Also just bought a fully loaded '05 Ultimate, but did it over the internet from Texas Direct Auto in Houston -- price was only $18,800! The Nav has only 35K miles and has navigation. Shipping to Milwaukee was $975. Other minor fees brought the total (w/o sales tax) to $20K -- a pretty good price, I think. However, my guess is that with gas going up, resale prices on Navs probably will go down. Still waiting on the car to arrive -- I think I got a real good deal if the Nav is as good as was described and appeared in the pictures that I got. Keeping my fingers crossed...

That's a heck of a deal. How are you liking the new ride? Was it as nice as it looks?

I bought my 2004 Ultimate with Nav, rear entertainment etc... on eBay from a dealer in Illinois in Sept 2007 and spent $25K. It was $600 to ship it to PA. I've been very happy with mine over the past year. It's taken us to Orlando, towed my boat to Canada and down to the coast of GA already. It's a great trip vehicle. I love the Nav system and the kids love the rear DVD player.

You paid 33,000 for one of them and 20,000 for the other?? I see those thingd and the escaldes everywhere with that kinda milage for 18,000 to 25,000 and Aviators starting around 12,000.

There aren't too many cars out there that go up in price over time. $20K for a '05 with 35K mileage was a pretty good price at the time. Vehicle was delivered in very good condition. The interior had not be cleaned as well as I thought it should have been, the tires were a bit more worn then represented in the ad, and one of the keys was missing. I emailed pictures to Texas Direct Auto and the salesman agreed with me -- they sent me a check for $375 as an adjustment with no hassles. First time buying a vehicle long distance, and I certainly would buy from these guys again. Been happy with the Nav so far. Mileage has ranged from 12 to 19 mpg based on how and where I drive. Got 19 driving down and back to Chicago with the cruise set at 65 (pretty good). Only got a little over 12 when towing my 22' (4K lb) speed boat, but that's no too bad considering. Vehicle rides great, and its very comfortable on long trips. Biggest thing is getting use to its size! Going from a LS to Navigator is like going from short pants to long. Thank God for the parking assistant buzzer. One nit -- I think my wife's Garmin is a better GPS than the factory unit in the Navigator. I really like the large screen, but its not as user friendly as the Garmin. Came with the 2003 map CD -- Navteq wants $200 for an updated CD -- a real rip off in my estimation.
