Ronal R-28 Wheel Question (another one!)

I hate to post another "...will this fit question", but before I invest in new wheels and tires, I thought I'd ask anyway:

I have a 2002 V-6/5-spd with Eiback Pro-sport springs, stock 7.5 x17 wheels and stock 235/50R15 tires.

I am looking at the Ronal R-28 rims (8.5 x 17) and want to mount 245/45R17 tires. Has anyone out there tried this combination of tire and rim width? The rims will evidently fit a stock ride height, but I don't know about the lowered stance.

Should I look at a 245/40R17 tire for this rim?

My alternative is with an 8 x17 rim width (Ronal makes an R-41 5-spoke wheel that looks nice) and the above tires, but I sure would like as wide a rim as possible...

Either tire size does not seem to be a problem on the stock 7.5 rims, but going to an 8.5 rim with these tires has me concerned somewhat.

As always, thanks for the input...

I think 255/45/17 will be good for those size of wheels, they sit perfectly on the stock 17s..

255 is to wide for a 7.5 or an 8 inch wide wheel. I would stick with 225-245

I have 255s on my stock ones, no rubbing at all.
