OldSchool1 April 14th, 2004, 02:41 AM she lied to the FBI about some stock trades she made, possibly illegally. OK guys, here goes; for the fiftenth time in Martha's defense ... Joey buys a Mark VII from me. He likes it and wants to turn it over for a profit. I find out that the (hypothetical) left handed widget switch will make your car smell like farts after 30,000 miles and I'm telling Joey TONIGHT and then telling the world TOMMORROW. Joey sells his car TONIGHT at a profit and the rest of the world sells their cars TOMMOROW and breaks even or looses money. MY QUESTION IS THIS! How can you hold JOEY guilty for selling his lemon based on what the former owner has to say? How can you hold MARTHA guilty for selling her stocks based on what the CEO has to say? Talk amoungst yourselves. Spidar6996 April 14th, 2004, 11:13 AM OK guys, here goes; for the fiftenth time in Martha's defense ... Joey buys a Mark VII from me. How do we pick who is important enough to get the privileged information first? Shouldn’t information be given to everyone without discrimination? I know the saying money is power but does that mean since I am broke I am the last guy to know? I think that is rather crappy. I guess I think everyone should get information or at least the opportunity to get the information at the same time. I guess that is just me though. Casper April 14th, 2004, 04:30 PM Well, it sounds like insider trading to me. Spidar6996 April 14th, 2004, 06:50 PM Well, it sounds like insider trading to me. It sure was! She thought she was above the law but she was proved wrong. :) Casper April 14th, 2004, 06:55 PM And then she lied to the FBI when questioned why she sold them??? Spidar6996 April 14th, 2004, 07:04 PM And then she lied to the FBI when questioned why she sold them??? Yep so you can see why she is in the trouble she is in. Casper April 14th, 2004, 07:06 PM Yep so you can see why she is in the trouble she is in. Someone better buy her some soap-on-a-rope!!! :p Spidar6996 April 14th, 2004, 07:10 PM Someone better buy her some soap-on-a-rope!!! :p O please they are going to put her in country club prison where she can still have her gardens and craft time. LOL Well then again you never know, you just never know….. some of those women might.... :ban  BlackIceLSC April 21st, 2004, 10:13 AM MY QUESTION IS THIS! How can you hold JOEY guilty for selling his lemon based on what the former owner has to say? How can you hold MARTHA guilty for selling her stocks based on what the CEO has to say? Talk amoungst yourselves. Because...it is ILLEGAL. Anyone who has ever opened a Schwab account, or has a 401k knows this. Its in the fine print. this country needed a fall guy(gal) since the whole Enron deal. Knowing this, why would anyone in the public eye make such a careless mistake. What Martha did, essentially, was against the law. if you are a shareholder, and aquire ANY information regarding the futures of your stock, you are obligated to report the information to an officer of the company, OR sit tight until the information become PUBLIC. hence the phrase "_______(name of company) has gone PUBLIC". It means more than "parts of the company are for sale(stocks)". it also refers to information. I dont have the exact terminalogy, but in a nut shell, it was illegal, she knows it, and then lied about it. She got off easy. She should have been brought to justice for scamming the public, lying ot authorities, and ripping off those that made her rich. back to the whole "Joey's mark VII". If Joey DIDNT tell the buyer of his "known fart-smeller" when he sold it, THAT is what makes it illegal. its not what you know, its what you do with the information. Joey buys the car, and as soon as he finds out it has a problem, he sells it without disclosing the problem. Selling it isnt the crime...with holding the information is. Look on the bright side... jail-house dykes will have clean sheets, and gourmet meals for years to come. SC_Steve April 21st, 2004, 10:25 AM Look on the bright side... jail-house dykes will have clean sheets, and gourmet meals for years to come. hahahahaha  Nysbadmk8 May 9th, 2004, 10:15 AM Shes not going to jail for insider tradeing, she going to jail for lieing about insider tradeing to the FBI. If She just fessed up about the whole deal, shed be ok right now. Casper May 14th, 2004, 05:02 PM So, is she going to jail or is she just getting a slap on her celebrity wrist? | ||||
