chickenviii December 14th, 2005, 12:18 PM i blew my driver ft tweet and found some old ones that i had lying around, so i swapped them out and everything sounds good now but whats the deal with the huge boxes the tweets are mounted in is it just a box or is there a crossover inside. just curious if anyone out there has cut one open? :Bang :Bang :Bang :Bang :Bang
chickenviii December 15th, 2005, 09:55 AM i just noticed that i didnt say that it is the jbl sys and the box is like 4"x4"
Fro99 December 15th, 2005, 02:43 PM are you talking about in the "roof" of the trunk?
chickenviii December 15th, 2005, 03:50 PM in the top of the ft doors

torquemonkey December 19th, 2005, 09:59 PM I'm interested reading about what you find. Is it for mounting, resonance or what? I thought that the cross-over was in the amp set-up under the dash for JBL.
chickenviii December 20th, 2005, 01:59 PM i will prob. disect the box this weekend and ill let everone know
chickenviii December 21st, 2005, 03:23 PM well for all 84 people that looked i used a precision hammer and opened up the box and found that it is just an empty box that holds the tweeter
Marked1 December 21st, 2005, 03:37 PM lol
torquemonkey December 21st, 2005, 09:20 PM A resonance chamber? Or is it that Ford has a "valued engineered" standard inner door skin/structure that is die stamped and the box is a generic mounting point?
MarkVIII93 December 21st, 2005, 10:48 PM Its and enclosure for the tweeter, to direct the sound toward the passengers. The crossovers are built into the amp I beleive.......
chickenviii January 4th, 2006, 03:59 PM sure now someone knows what it is, after everyone looked and nobody said nothin and i destroy mine then someone chimes in and says what i allready know now

All I know, is that they are a real PITA to put aftermarket tweeters in that spot.
