MarkVIII93 December 17th, 2005, 03:22 PM Looks cool! There's a chance that it will work, but im not very knowledgeble about what radio will swap from car to car.
MarkOfDeath December 18th, 2005, 09:20 AM bump
mespock December 18th, 2005, 10:11 AM Hey you don't need to have a ford radio?
There are plenty of good CD players on eBay if that's where you want to get them.
Just go to Wal-Mart and get a scosche wire harness and plug it in... Most indash units fit the 93 and 94 slots. Also Scosche makes fillers if they don't.
I picked up a JVC 12 disc CD changer that works with an FM modulator. Sound is very good. If you get a matching JVC CD/Radio for your dash it will usually plug right into the back and work like your old changer.
Just my opinion.
MarkOfDeath December 18th, 2005, 10:50 AM I heard you cant get a new head unit with the JBL sound, they said it was was to much for the amp or some bullshlt
mespock December 18th, 2005, 10:56 AM I heard you cant get a new head unit with the JBL sound, they said it was was to much for the amp or some bullshlt
BS!! You don't need to use Ford parts..
Finds something you like and put it in. I have a Kenwood that I have as my head unit right now. I'm looking for the right JVC that would work with my Changer. Right meaning the best unit I can find on eBay for the price I want to pay.
I personally don't need a many $1000s system in my car. What I have works fine for me and to the average listener is fine. I don't need to head bang around town. To old for that! But mind you I do like some good loud music just want to protect my ears so can still hear good music when I'm much much older LOL...
So look around, I'd wait until after Christmas as eBay's prices seem to bid higher around the Holiday season.
jdlmkviii December 18th, 2005, 11:07 AM I have a pansonic head unit with the JBL factory speakers... just upgrading the head unit alone was enough to not even bother upgrading the speakers. It sounds amazing.
MarkOfDeath December 20th, 2005, 12:37 PM will I be ablw to use my factory amp and stuff thou
MarkOfDeath December 20th, 2005, 12:39 PM I also got the adapter thing at best buy, I have to wire it up I guess, or does the walmart one just plug in
materialboi December 20th, 2005, 02:17 PM  does your car have the jbl system? from what i understand if you do infact have a jbl and plan to put a stock radio in, it needs to be a jbl head unit or you'll have to wire the amp to come on when the radio does or whatever. i'd go with a nice aftermarket head unit, the sound will be even better and the wire harness comes with a jbl adapter\
btw, walmart have the adapter you will need, it cost more anywhere else and works just fine
MarkOfDeath December 20th, 2005, 03:57 PM I have the jbl, also I have one more wire to connect its a solid blue one and the ford factory maunal says its a RADIO ON OUTPUT where does this go
MarkOfDeath December 20th, 2005, 03:58 PM also ford said the wire should be orange and yellow
MarkOfDeath December 20th, 2005, 04:27 PM also the antenna doesnt go up, it d oes sound alot louder, with the pioneer i got
mespock December 20th, 2005, 04:33 PM I'm not sure about the wires. Mine all color matched when I installed my Kenwood.
I used a harness from Wal-Mart.
If I remember right the Orange wire should be your antenna - Blue I am not sure.. haven't done enough radios to remember.
MarkOfDeath December 20th, 2005, 04:51 PM sorry the dark blue is radio on signal and the orange and yellow is output
MarkOfDeath December 20th, 2005, 04:56 PM what color was the antenna wire from the kenwood stereo
9_8_L_S_C December 20th, 2005, 05:01 PM remote turn on wire is blue or blue with white strip.there should be 2 separate wires from the aftermarket deck-1 for amp turn on and one for power ant.you dont want to hook them both to the same one cause when you switch to cd your ant will still be up.
MarkOfDeath December 20th, 2005, 05:11 PM I dont think there is 2 blue wires
MarkOfDeath December 20th, 2005, 05:15 PM since there is only one wire for the new headunit, Im just going to wire the 2wires to the one
9_8_L_S_C December 20th, 2005, 05:16 PM you should just drive 5 minutes down the street to my house and i will button it up for ya.I will be back on in a few-wifes calling dinner let me know
MarkOfDeath December 20th, 2005, 05:21 PM let me try hooking them both up real quick,
9_8_L_S_C December 20th, 2005, 07:14 PM Looked good Brad - I had to run an errand and thought I would pop by and give a hand.
MarkOfDeath December 21st, 2005, 08:25 AM thanks a million for stopping by, I had an idea on what I was doing, Its just I hate working with wires and stuff. The sound is a billion times better, Its clear and loud and the bass hits harder with alot more clarity. Now its time for some subs.
MarkOfDeath December 21st, 2005, 08:32 AM BTW heres the one I went with, its XM ready and Ipod ready, I paid 141 for so it aint that bad of a deal
