Well its snowing today and my intermittent wiper function stopped. Also the auto mode is not working. Luck for me manual functions still working. Could this be caused by bad relay?

that's odd because My Mark 8 did that this morning but I'm not sure if its because there may have been ice around the armature. The odd thing is that it would intermittently work if I played around with the switch. The really odd thing is that if I hit the windshield spray button and it didn't work, I'd play with the multi-switch, then all of a sudden (with everthing off) the wipers would start going through the motion as if I sprayed wiper fluid!

See if either of these help. The conclusion I came to was replacement, because Lincoln could not put a finger on the problems it was having with them. Good luck.
