200 amp alternator

I am looking for a bigger alternator. I am having my car stereo system upgraded and I do not want head light dimming or battery failure. I have a 2000 Town Car with 130 amp alt right now. Does anybody know where I can find a bigger one soon. The car is being upgrade in two weeks ( 2 long weeks).

i would talk to them on why you need the bigger alt. you might need the upgraded wiring kit for the alt. but double check with them. i have a system in my mark, and i got that POS 120amp. i do not experiance any dimming of lights in the car. just get a heavy duty battery like a 1000 CA, hooked up to the cap and you should be good.

Upgrade your Big-3 to a minimum of 4 ga. and try that. You'll spend a max of $40 compared to $200+

I got a 200 amp for 189.00 plus 15.00 shipping. I called the guy friday they built it friday and shipped it saturday. I have it now.http://www.dbelectrical.com/

what color did u get the alt in? are u running a big stereo equip?

My stereo was eating my alternators at an alarming rate. I had my stock alternator rewound to be a 200 amp and powder coated the case red for about $100 total. That plus 4.4 farads of caps still didn't do the trick - my voltage regulator went bad. I finally bought a Yellow Optima battery. It's been 4 months now. I think that's a record.
