98LSC32V November 15th, 2005, 05:11 PM Will the Cobra Intake have any clearence issues with the Cobra R cowl hood? What are all the parts that I need to swap it onto my 95 Mark VIII? Here are the list of parts, am I missing anything?
Upper and lower intake
IMRC's
Throttle Body
fuel rails and 24lb cobra injectors
IAC
What am I missing or forgetting?
94m5 November 15th, 2005, 06:07 PM Yes, it will clear with no problem.
depending on what year cobra intake you have, you may need to plug a couple holes in the inside of the lower unit. Youll need the gaskets the go between the intake and the imrcs. and if you don't have them already, the lower gaskets as well. Are you planning on running the EGR system? If so, you'll need that.

98LSC32V November 15th, 2005, 06:15 PM I am getting a 97 intake so I won't have to plug up any holes. Would it be advisable to use the Cobra fuel rails and fuel injectors? Would that make the swap easier?
Grifter November 16th, 2005, 09:38 PM you will need the cobra rails, the injectors are the same, you will also need the imrc's from the cobra
98LSC32V November 17th, 2005, 03:31 AM Are the 99 Cobra fuel rails the same as 96-98?
Grifter November 17th, 2005, 10:51 AM no, the 99+ are returnless rails, and wont work.. 96-98 are the only that are right
Grifter November 17th, 2005, 10:54 AM the iac, i know you can use a gen2 one for sure. the only difference between the cobra and gen2 is the direction the plug points
chickenviii November 18th, 2005, 12:38 PM how much of a performance gain will just the intake get you?
94m5 November 18th, 2005, 06:48 PM Your looking at around 10-15 MAYBE 20.
But you also have to keep in mind that this will move your torque peak up higher in the rev band, effectivly killing your low end. The cobra intake is really only "worthwhile" with a set of gears to support the low end loss.

98LSC32V November 20th, 2005, 09:58 PM Can I resuse my 95 IMRC's or do you have to use the Cobra ones?
JoeyLincolnMK8 November 20th, 2005, 10:01 PM you have to use the ones from the cobra. but i have heard somewhere that the G2 marks would work? someone can chime in to confirm this one.
94m5 November 20th, 2005, 11:45 PM yea, 97-98 IMRCS will work. They are actually preferred over the early cobra units due to thier composite design. (less heat transfer)
98LSC32V November 21st, 2005, 12:30 AM Can someone tell me the part number for the 98 Cobra IMRC's and does the IMRC controller come seperately? If so, the part number to that...
98LSC32V November 21st, 2005, 02:55 AM Will I need any new bolts from the Ford for the Cobra intake manifold?
MrWilson November 21st, 2005, 08:28 AM and this whole thing will cost...? including parts and all.
also, if you dont use the EGR, will that fail your emmisions, and do you need to tune things for not having that, and do you need to cap off anything?
98LSC32V November 21st, 2005, 05:18 PM I'm planning on doing the EGR delete plate. Anyone know if this one will work:

Grifter November 21st, 2005, 05:35 PM yup.. thats the one.
get a new gasket too..
98LSC32V November 21st, 2005, 07:45 PM Where can I get the cap for the EGR delete on the header? Also, will 97 Cobra IMRC gaskets work on 98 Cobra plastic IMRC's or will I need to get special gaskets for the 98 IMRC's? Thanks...
Grifter November 22nd, 2005, 09:54 AM the gaskets are the same for 96-98 cobra as they are for 97-8 marks
what i did for the plug on the header, i took the stock nut that held the tube in place, removed the tube part, put a solid washer in the hole that the tube left, and welded it up..viola, instant plug. no leaks either.
