Northstar-powered Saturn

I'm thinking about dropping a Northstar V8 into my 99 Saturn. I know it will fit, but I'd like a complete Cadillac to take it out of, perhaps a wrecked one. If I can successfully do this without crushing my wallet, what would be the best Cadillac to get one from, DeVille or Seville? My neighbor says Seville, because it's a lighter car and the transmission would be better matched for my Saturn's weight. Any feedback would be good, as well as maybe a link to get a supercharger for the Northstar, as well as a chip and any other upgrades to get it as close to 400-450 horsepower, if any exist.

I got the price quote, $5K. Includes refabricated suspension, steering, brakes, electrical, basically everything. Anybody know of a supercharger or computer chip for the Northstar? If they exist, I'd seriously consider it.

Im curious. Why would you want to put a N* in a saturn? To have something different?

they dont make a supercharger.. i have a 2002 sts and i called the place in cali that successfully made the first supercharger for it, BUT the stupid computers in the car wont allow it.. believe me, they dont make ANYTHING for my damn car!!! if you want something for it, you better fabricate it or you wont find it, not even on ebay, and your answer to which car the DTS OR STS or even the SLS.. ive come to the conclusion the STS because they offered more HP in that model, lighter trans.. goodluck

You might want to check on your state laws first, some are strict on emissions qualifications. Some just say if they can't plug in their computer and get an ok, you're up the creek.

If you're planning on hot rodding, maybe these guys can help,

You'd better spent a fortune on strengthening that transaxle.

hey if you want some boost for that thing check out sts turbocharger universal kit. I know, everyone wants to supercharge american v8s but this way it would bolt right on and u wouldnt need to jack around under the hood so much. dont even need headers, sts dosent reccomend them. oh and it sounds crazy.
