Hi I just bought a 2000 Lincoln LS V6 Two days after purchsing the check engine light came on found out it was 02 sensor. Is it normal for a very strong gas smell to occur when the 02 sensor needs to be replaced?
Also wanted to know what else I should have looked at on car before the 30 day limited warranty is up. The car has 87,000 miles on it.

Yeah The code read "02 sensor low response" Bank 1 The code was a P0133.

That definitely sounds like a dead or dying O2 sensor. The code means the cross counts are way down. And yes...you can get some pretty bad smells when this happens. Throw an O2 sensor in it. Actually, at that mileage, I'd throw both front sensors in it. You're problems should disappear.
