That should tell you something.

The car weighs just short of 4000 pounds. Why would you want to comprimise stopping safety (lighter brake components) for a few 1/10ths in the quarter? Dude, the LS is a LUXURY car, not a Mustang. Want to shave some time? Go through and remove all the sound deadening in the doors, firewall and floor. Strip the fabric liner from the trunk. Remove the back and passanger seat.

a half-second is a lot of time to shave.

Lightening the rotating mass will improve your quarter times. it reduces the burden(load) on the engine and allows it to spin up quicker(which will get your engine to its peak torque curve faster). most aftermarket brake parts are not only lighter but also sturdier and built better than stock components. I put 13" rotors and cobra brakes on my my mustang and it shaved 25+ pounds and it stops ~40' shorter on a 60-0 mph non-abs stop. it should do the same if not better on an LS.

Lighter rims and performance tires can also reduce the rotating-mass weight. A lot of track enthusiasts also change out their torque convertors or flywheels for lighter aluminum alternatives, not to mention the tc's inherent gain.
