Umm --
Have you tried to program your new remote fob to your car yet?
I'm going out on a limb, assuming your keyless module is working and you know the correct permanent code, and the fob battery is fresh, if you tried to program the new fob and it didn't take, it's not compatible.

Never mind the number on the back, many different numbers are compatible. One number you may want to be concerned with is the MEM1 or MEM2 designation. These allow two different (mem1 or mem2) fobs to remember different seat and mirror positions.

If your's looks like the one's shown here (http://search.ebay.com/Mark-Remote_eBay-Motors_W0QQcatrefZC12QQfromZR40QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQs acatZ6000), it should be the right one.

Does your keyless number pad work?

it doesnt appear to be one that has a mem1 or mem2 feature on it, id just assume it is for a non mem car.

ill prolly just get one of them off ebay, besides i dont have the linc star on mine, i like that.

Well here is a quote on OEM ones, before you head over to Flea Bay.

F8OZ-15K601-AA (#1) List $49.09 LVC $42.64
F8OZ-15K601-BA (#2) List $49.09 LVC $42.64

This item does not carry the normal 25% discount, Lincoln considers this an accessory.

Yeah, the new one's aren't cheap, but they are new :)

Some of the eBay ones list as "NOS" (new old stock) or "never used".. etc.
I have five from eBay, all working, all in great shape.

The one on the right is the same as my 1996 MK8, and my 1995 Cobra. The cobra has running horse on the front, but all of the information on the back is the same.
