Mark VIII Differentialsmrlandyacht October 24th, 2005, 11:21 AM I'm just wondering if mark viii's come with posi differentials or just standard diffs...any comments? 94m5 October 24th, 2005, 11:49 AM MarkVIII Differentials are "open" units. even the LSCs. Mike buddylee October 24th, 2005, 12:48 PM no pos rear end..... Frogman October 24th, 2005, 01:48 PM Mine came with a locker... out of my mechanic's garage, that is. :P But yes, the Mark VIII gurus are correct. It's an open Diff. mrlandyacht October 24th, 2005, 05:56 PM pardon my ignorance, but if I were to brake-torque with an "open" diff, it would be only the right tire burning, right? -thanks again for your input guys 94m5 October 24th, 2005, 06:09 PM not nessisarily..... It depends most of the time as to which tire has the least load on it. You CAN get an open diff to spin both if your good enough. ;) Mike mrlandyacht October 24th, 2005, 06:14 PM ok...so an open diff is kinda in between standard and posi...? cool Frogman October 24th, 2005, 06:26 PM wwwwwwhats a standard diff? Frogman October 24th, 2005, 06:32 PM Wouldn't this threa be more at hme in the MArk VIII forum??? edit: Sorry 'bout the doublepost. 94m5 October 24th, 2005, 10:08 PM ok...so an open diff is kinda in between standard and posi...? cool no...an open differential is like what your thinking. You can still spin duals with an open diferential if the conditions are right for it. mrlandyacht October 27th, 2005, 12:21 PM oh, I'm also curious what the stock rear end is on those mark VIII's....3.27? 3.08? 3.55? 94m5 October 27th, 2005, 02:05 PM oh, I'm also curious what the stock rear end is on those mark VIII's....3.27? 3.08? 3.55? 3.08's in the base mark....and 3.27's in the LSC's Psychostang October 27th, 2005, 07:52 PM Interesting, my service manual has the base diff. listed as a 3.07 ONEBADMK8 October 27th, 2005, 09:35 PM It is 3:07 and 3:27's for the LSC. mrlandyacht October 28th, 2005, 11:13 AM cool! -thanks guys MarkOfDeath October 29th, 2005, 08:55 AM just a posi alone is an awsome mod, then add 4.10s and a stall, you can drift around any corner and fishtail 100+feet ONEBADMK8 October 30th, 2005, 12:24 AM just a posi alone is an awsome mod, then add 4.10s and a stall, you can drift around any corner and fishtail 100+feet Yes you sure CAN!
