95Marklll(Kingcobra) October 23rd, 2005, 05:27 PM Is it possible to remove the lenses on the Head lights? My one head light is relatively dirty compared to my other head light. I looked all over is this a one piece that needs to be completely replaced? Thanks again.
JC1994 October 23rd, 2005, 06:41 PM Don't waste your time. Buy new ones or HID's.

94m5 October 24th, 2005, 12:30 PM Just a little warning....
I CANNOT garunteee that that is how long you need to have them in there. The plastic used for the lenses is VERY sensitive to heat. Too long and you will melt the lens to a milky complection.
Do It by feel, and take your time. They WILL come apart.

95Marklll(Kingcobra) October 24th, 2005, 06:37 PM thats cool I might try that, I was also thinkin about taking a trip to a junk yard, I mean are cars arent as young as they once were there should be a few there that i could part out. If i were to do this how much do you think ill get wacked for a pair of headlights?
deflanman October 25th, 2005, 12:47 PM JC 1994-
Will you go $300 plus shipping?
94m5 October 25th, 2005, 12:53 PM I paid 75 a side at a "local" junkyard.
you can find them cheaper and more expensive soemtimes.
Mike
95Marklll(Kingcobra) October 25th, 2005, 04:10 PM 75 not bad. I know a guy who restores cars and does body work has his own bussiness and everything. My car needs the drivers side front fendor to be fixed and needs a knew side light. He told me he could buy a wrecked mark for real cheap and totally part out whatever I want on the car. He gets the cars super cheap from organized wrecked car auctions that only people with a special vendors license can go. If this works out, all part what I need and post whatever u guys might need.

I'm trying to return a set I got on Ebay that are NOT as described. The reflective material is virtually gone in the low beam section. They were supposed to be "like new" with only a small piece/speck of the chrome missing. NOT!
So, assuming that I will not have a hassle getting my money back I can PayPal you $300 plus shipping to Fishers, IN. I should have my negotiation finished by the end of the week.
Agreeable? Do you prefer another form of payment rather than PayPal?
The new headlight housings you have for sale look great!

Update: The EBay sellers are sending me replacements which, they say, are mint. Guess I'll wait and see. I'll withdraw my offer of $300 for now.
If the replacements are junk, I'll touch base with you again to see if yours are still for sale.
Dan
MrWilson October 25th, 2005, 10:59 PM I got my own question...are my headlights in need of replacement?
I always knew about the poor lighting problems with the mark8, but is this bad?

JC1994 October 25th, 2005, 11:32 PM Yes, they are shot.
MrWilson October 26th, 2005, 08:16 AM lol, i always thought that was just typical. haha
how much of an improvement do ya think id see with new lights.
JC1994 October 26th, 2005, 03:33 PM night and day difference!
rmac694203 October 26th, 2005, 11:38 PM Yeah mine suck. I usually drive with my brights on unless it is a well-lit street. Screw Ford for using these terrible headlights.
JC1994 October 26th, 2005, 11:44 PM :iconcur:
Brozly October 27th, 2005, 07:18 PM My high beems aren't too bad, I've never been flashed though, I think the low beams were ment for parking lots...
95Marklll(Kingcobra) October 27th, 2005, 07:46 PM why the hell did ford fuse the damn things together, I mean come on be a little curtious and have them screwed together so u could remove the lense by taking off some screws. Oh well.....
MarkVIII93 October 27th, 2005, 07:55 PM Can you sand the inside of the lense smooth so it looks like HID's?
Brozly October 27th, 2005, 08:04 PM I would think that would take some serious sanding, and how much material would be left??
MrWilson October 27th, 2005, 08:06 PM Yeah mine suck. I usually drive with my brights on unless it is a well-lit street.
I always drive with my highs, even if i get flashed, lol. even my highbeams are worse then the low beams on most cars iv been in or driven.
My friend got these sylvania bulbs (sealed something or other) for his 85 MCss ,just low beams, and they are brighter than many high beams.
I was wondering if anyone knows what exactly they are, and if sylvenia makes a set for the mark?
94m5 October 28th, 2005, 10:12 AM Sylvania made the housings that you have now, Along with the HIDs.
JDS353 October 29th, 2005, 06:23 PM when you sand the inside of the lights you could ruin the light broadcast pattern. the ridges are their for a reason. we havent got our light mods done yet. polished the lens and replaced the silver with heating duct tape that i have polished up. with cold weather coming will have time to finish them up . we are going to adapate vw golf hids to them . one of the back burner jobs. i don't know if mike posted pics . will check with him and find out if not will post soon. jd mike 94m5 dad.
