i finally caught a race with this silver LS (V8) with a nice exhaust i been after for a while... im hangin out up at this carwash wit my friends and i see it go flying by so i hop into the mark viii and go after him smokin the tires down the highway. i catch this redlight so i go around this jughandle type thing to avoid it and back on the highway after him... i catch up wit him in the next town over after some serious haulin ass. i pull up next to him at a light and pipe em up and then a state trooper went across the intersection so we decided to try and catch the next light, which we did. i flashed the converter outah the hole and managed get a decent launch.. i looked over at the LS and it was pullin on me alil but i knew once i hit 2nd it would be all over. so i shifted at 6 grand and pulled away from him. it was a very good race. so i went back to the carwash where my 2 friends in thier mark vii's were waiting and the the guy wit te LS followed me back. We all just talked bout our cars and checked each others out. Im pretty sure he said he's a member of LVC too. It was a pretty fun night. :C

stock for stock it would be close as hell, but I think the Mark VIII might be quicker

i agree, it would be a screaming down race. but i think the mark will probably pull ahead by a car length!

I beat an LS V8 no problem. He had some 18's but that wouldnt slow the car down much.

i got him by alil over a car length... the LS was qwick out of the hole though. it was close as hell till i went into 2nd. but it was so cool to race another recklace driving lincoln owner lol

I've never had a problem with LS8's.
The mark has more displacment, and more power. End of story.

Not much of race since the engine displacements are different. I would expect the Mark VIII to beat the LS on a drag strip sort of race. However, I'd bet the LS would lay the smack down on an autocrossing type road or in the twisties. That's where the LS shines.
On a side note, I'd like to see how that race would have been once Lou gets the Supercharger done on the LS. Hmmm....sounds like we might need to have an LvC show down!
