I have "inherited" a 1988 Lincoln LSC that seems to be in almost pristine condition. The paint and interior are perfect and the car has under 50,000 miles on it. One big problem though is that it has been sitting in a garage and hasn't been run for at least two years and has gone flat - a lowrider as I see people call it on the net.

The car has the air suspension system and I was wondering if anyone knows what I should do to inflate it. I am going to put a new battery in and see what happens - it hasn't been turned on in at least two years. Some articles on the net seem to suggest I should jack the car up before doing this. Any guidance would be great! Thanks.

My '90 sat in a junk yard for over a year with all for air springs deflated. And before it was sent to the junk yard, it might have been sitting in low-rider mode for many more months.

When I finally started the engine, the compressor kicked on and inflated the air springs with no problems. However, the rears would leak down after 2 days. The fronts stayed inflated and, to this day, STILL stay inflated. I replaced the rears with new Ford parts. The car has sat for over 2 weeks at a time with no change in suspension height.

If your M7 has the original air springs in it still, it's probably time to replace them anyway. Fire that sucker up and see what happens.
