Where's the luxury? My opinion of Olds is they mainly had cars with nothing more than brute power. They never were in to the ride or styling of the car.

You aren't an Oldsmobile historian, I take it. I guess that Cutlass up there with no hood isn't going to pamper you too much, but I think the '53 Fiesta is one of the best looking cars of all time.

Sorry, was born in '78 so I wasn't thinking that far back. I can't think of many from the 70's to present that were considered luxury. I can think of a lot of cars back in the 50's that were considered luxury but they don't hold up to Lincolns or Cadillacs of present.

Well that is very cool. I would be careful calling it the "only" turboed Olds, but it certainly is unique. Soooo, how fast is it?

Its an 88, it is luxury, more then the mark VII I think. Its really fast im guessing 12s-11s with the turbo

If an 88 Olds Cutlass has more luxury than a MarkVII, I'll probably poop my pants. :p

In addition to the 2 Cadilliacs I own I also have a 1976 Olds 98 Regency (purchased
new in Nov. 1975) This car is loaded with luxury items, plus a very smooth ride, I loved
the Oldsmobiles of the 50's and 60's especially the 98's . The 98 Luxury sedans of the
late 60's then Regencys of the early to mid 70's were very luxurious automobiles. That 53 Fiesta is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!

We are having some engine trouble, After test running it, it spools real good in second gear and pulls you back in your seat, but when its gets to 15 pounds the engine , with it still floored, drops rpms and fast and we loss boost, we have the spark plugs gaped a .28 so we re gapped them to .54 it was running a little better, it still happened though and we throw a belt, which made things hella worse. We still dont have a clue on the problem.

That's the thing with all that work on an engine. It takes forever to iron everything out. Just be patient, take your time, and eventually the car will run perfect.

I live in Joliet, No we our running rich we even had to put in smaller jets because it was running to rich

Very nice Olds, I know a buddy of mine who's looking to buy an Oldsmobile of the same kind. They are very nnice cars, and yes Olds can considered luxury, anyone ever drive a Toronado from 80's and early 90's? :steering: I've been in one and they are very pampering cars.

Oh yeah, I drove a Grand Marquis in the 80's. Does that make the Mercury Lynx (Escort) luxury also? LOL. We are talking about an '80's Cutlass which I do not think is fair to call "luxury" IMHO, and cannot be compared to a Toronado when talking about luxury.
