Holla at cha boy Not hard but u might want to take it to a shop to insure proper installation. Too much info to type. Try searching around the internet. ILL VII October 17th, 2005, 09:56 AM Wheres it leaking from.. hoses or the caliper itself. Easy fix. skymasteres October 17th, 2005, 10:18 AM Make sure you get one of thoes tools to screw the piston into the caliper body if, when you replace it. :) Drew4002 October 17th, 2005, 05:50 PM Make sure you get one of thoes tools to screw the piston into the caliper body if, when you replace it. :) a C-clamp is the name of the tool. Holla at cha boy Go here, it explains everything. http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/tech/lincoln-mark-viii/Brake-Pads-Rotors/index.htm Its a Mark 8 but same process and stuff. U might as well do your pads and rotors also if u have the money while its all apart. kahunasteve October 17th, 2005, 07:12 PM hi ,,,the callipers are the screw- in type on my 91 : ,,,the c-clamp won,t work  ,,its a good idea to check the hoses before you condeme the callipers and :I ,,,,to look at the entire rear brake system before you start spending your loot ,, :dj: : regards "kahuna" :Beer skymasteres October 17th, 2005, 07:14 PM a C-clamp is the name of the tool. Not for the rear calipers. If you want the parking brake to work right you need to rotate the piston back into place. One_Way October 17th, 2005, 08:38 PM The tool looks like this: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00062ZO5S.01-A36276C8ZCAUKC._SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg Might be able to rent one at Autozone or Advance Auto Parts. The c-clamp worked ok for me but I bought new calipers anyway. The tool is probably a lot easier. Also try renting one at murray's. On my 90 the c-clamp will serve just fine for the front calipers . The rears require a tool to turn piston back in to the caliper body. Got a "universal" tool at local parts store, with a 3/8 drive for about $13. Total time for one real caliper -- just over an hour. Good luck. Lincolnlov | ||||
