anyone here with an 05 w/the nav system or an older model upgraded to the 05 map disc (called "map release 3d")? Just looking for feedback on the software and if there are any real improvements to the data. also, since it's called map release 3d wondering if they've gone to 3d views and such on it. any feedback is appreciated. it's a pricey upgrade and wondering if it's worth it. thanks in advance.

My NAV hasn't been working for a while, the maps do but I can't enter a destination. Dealer has replaced the head unit and GPS a couple times, finally said my disc was scratched, but won't pay for a new one cause it only comes with a 30 day warranty. They want $300 for a new disc.

I really don't want to spend that much money on a disc but if the new one is much better I may.

Again I'm not sure they're 3d...may just be the version. $300. Hey if you just need to REPLACE the 03 version, you can find on ebay cheap - under $50.

hey where did you get this info - have you guys tried going into the ford owners site and requested one -- im going to do that to see what they say -- i will hit them up with the -- im a customer and im not happy until i gets the new DVD to see what they say...

no you talk to navteq. 2004 version was "3d", 05 "4d"

I got the 3D now. Nothing new except updated streets and such. I got it on ebay for $81.

hey if you have a DVD recorder you can make some $ off that DVD....
i know of alot of peaple that will pay $ for that disc, me included.... but im not asking you to do elegal stuff, just giving you a hint of what can happen if you wanted to....... ;)

you can't copy the disc. the drive reads the physical UPC off the hub of the disc....

3D doesn't refer to "Three Dimensional". It's a version number for the Disc. Mine is version 4D which is the latest version. It's got every street and POI in my neighborhood.
