So What about the Mark IX or X ?

So what is the Gerneral Consensus on these Concept Marks.

Will they produce the Mark IX.

There needs to be a hump on the trunklid. And I certainly hope that we may get another Mark series sometime soon!

I hope so to! I want the hump on the trunk lid to. That is just one of the many reasons I love my M7!

The Mark X doesn't do as much for me, but I do like the rage top.

Engine/Drive Train General 3.9-liter, 4-valve V-8
Horsepower 280 hp @ 6000 rpm
Torque 286 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm
Transmission 5-speed automatic
Maximum speed 145 mph

Bummer I was hoping for anothre Bonneville Speed Record -

It better have better power than that, and a higher cube engine. That's less than the MarkVIII LSC. That's unexceptable. We need something closer to 350hp. That'll make me happy.

I also hope these cars will make production, I went to last years auto show I talked to one of the Lincoln guy's and they said if it does make production it will be the Mark IX, the Mark X is what nthe drop top version of the Mark IX will probably look like. I hope this happens cause' those are beautiful cars. :smilies-3

We should have a Midwest Chapter :smilies-3 gathering at the 2005 Chicago Auto show in Feb. That would be fun. Count me in! I'd day the Detroit show but seeing that about 90% of the Midwest Chapter are in the Chi area the Chicago show would get a bigger draw.

I have to agree it needs to have the hump. :iconcur: Not as if I could afford one but it is cool lookin ride. I don't care for convertibles.

Mepock, Thats a good Idea. I have never been to a Chicago auto show H'mm wonder if it could top the Detroit auto show, NOT :dj:

I would guess that the Detroit show would be the best.

But I use to go every year to the Chi auto show and it was a blast.

So lets put that idea on the back burner as we have a few months to go.

Think they would let us has a section to so off our cars LOL.

Unfortunately, the only Mark that Lincoln plans to build between now and 2007 is the Mark LT pickup.




Even if they were to bring out the convertible Marks, they need to transplant a better engine. It will undoubtedly be compared to the XLR and that car currently has a 320hp variable valve timing Northstar with plans to drop an XLR-V version sometime next year to go after Mercedes AMG.

The Auto show in Chicago is a thought.
I agree needs more power. They shold not be going backwards. If the mark was brought back again is it going to fail again? :Bang

Is the chicago auto show over crowded like the detroit auto show is on the weed days?

Lincoln is not really sure on their plans, i believe the mark LT is sketchy at best. They are supposed to put together another 5 concepts and im pretty sure they are caught up in that until they can get the future of lincoln together. They may use it as an experiemental platform before producing a certain vehicle for jaguar. That seems to be their new jewel.

They could improve the interior - Even though I am a Badger fan the red and white didn't do anything for me.

Otherwise this looks sharp. What are the specs on this thing (Navicross)? Does it have any get up and go or will it be a dog!

We don't need anymore Beautician cars out there.
