how ridiculous would it be to try to transplant a S/C 4.2 Jag engine? I can pick one up w/15K mi from an 03 for 3500. know we'd probably need a new computer...and maybe the belt drive stuff. does it sound possible? sorry if been covered before.

It would be an interesting project. 3500 is pretty cheap for that motor I think. This and a 6 Speed Manual is the LS Lincoln should have built for us all.
Anyway It will not be easy trying to mate this up with the existing systems in the car... Major PCM rewrite

I think you're barking up the wrong tree with this one. Our cars tie so many things into the PCM that just swapping to the Jag computer may not be possible. You might be able to use an aftermarket computer (FAST), but that will still leave a lot of problems with your car. Things like the tranny, instrument cluster, climate controlled seats, on and on and on...are usually tied to the buss and need the main processor to work. I think this is a non starter.

:I There are a couple of threads on this.
The LS uses a distributed computer setup - there are several computers that communicate with eachother and the PCM. To create a daily driver - you would have to do a major swap of all the electronics, dash, FEM, REM,....

Might be easier to put an LS body on a Jag Stype-R than this engine transplant.. :Bang :Bang :Bang
