Header question for GT40p heads!

I drive an '88' Mark VII with some decent mods. I'm about to put a set of new GT40p heads on it and i'm tryin to find a header that will fit around the steering linkage. Supposedly all headers bolt up to the heads but they all have some spark plug clearance issues. I need shorter plugs and 90* boots on the wires. I heard that the BBK Shorty Headers fit fine on my ride from a guy with a set on an '88' T-Bird. He said no clearance issues anywhere. I'm pretty sure that they will fit but wondering if anyone has done this before or knows anybody who has. I'm looking for a performance header that will fit for sure! Any info would be great.

Welcome :Beer

GT40 heads...nice power adder.
The BBK shortys are great headers. They're what I have, no plug or wire problems.
I don't know of any unseen problems with the GT 40 heads. Mine are stock heads.
I'm sure someone here will know. If not, head over to the corral and ask the stang boys. They'll now for sure. But I think you're fine with the BBKs.

Cheers

Thanx man. I know the headers will fit on mustangs cause I've talked to a few guys with them. The only problem I might have with my Mark VII is clearing the steering linkage. With the GT40p heads, I will have plug and wire problems but I can easily fix that. The headers WILL bolt up but not sure about the steering. Did you have any trouble clearing the downtube around the steering linkage cause I'll probably go with the headers that u used. From what I have heard, they work great for my, and all applications. Thanks. Any info would be great.

Please be very cautious; there is a difference between the GT40 and GT40p heads when it comes to clearance issues.

Almost everyone that I have seen/talked to uses the unequal length headers.
They might fit a little better because there is not as much tubing in the way. There is only one true way to find out. I'm just gonna buy the BBK shorty's (unequal length) since that is what I heard works (and because I like the look and sound), and try to bolt them up.Simple as that. Hopefully they fit, if not, Ill return them. I'll let u all know what fits with these heads on the Mark VII's after I test fit them (hopefully before winter).
