Hi,
I'm a new member. I have a '97 Mark VIII (pewter in color and garage kept) for sale $9500. I am the original owner living in the Chicago western suburbs. I thought I'd post it here before I put it out to the general public. I met some of you at the Lombard, IL car show on 8/13. Interested...contact me at romgypsy@earthlink.net

Hi Welcome,

I'm with Mespock, but even if you do end up selling your one source of unbridled self satisfying enjoyment (which one of us will surely buy) you will still become drawn in by this wonderfully talented group of automobile geniuses.

Will you be able to post some pics of your MarkVIII in your garage?

Again, Welcome

Ms M

That price may be a little on the high side. How many miles? Good luck on the sale.

I only got $5000 for my 1994 Jaguar XJ12L and it only had 70,000 original miles. But that was another time (about a year and a half ago), but I had it as my first real car, it had 300HP and I made about $1000 on it, so I was happy. I sold it because I was given a 1991 Town Car with 75,000 miles that had been not used since 1994 and was like new on all aspects.

Good Luck on selling the Mark VIII, if your case was like mine, the gas mileage was bothering you. Mine got about 12 overall on Premium. Your Mark probably gets 20 on Premium.

Depends how you drive them, I was getting 28 on the highway...

There is no possible way, no matter what mods (short of an engine change) that you can ever get above 20 highway with an XJ12, the fact that the engine at idle eats plenty of gas (no power on demand fue saver crap). I always kept the engine in tune and always used Chevron premium gas. I also despite my age, was not a leadfoot in the Jag, that's what my Triumph's for.

That 28 is conceivable in a Mark VIII that drives all highway. If that's what you're talking about. Mine is strictly town use (hence a Town Car) and I get 20 - 22 depending on what kind of gas I give it.

I'm curious as to which car you were talking about, or if you were kidding.
