We have a 2000 LS that has a rattle which seems to be coming from the intake manifold. The rattle is more noticable when you switching from park into the gears, either reverse or drive.

Any suggestions, has anyone else had a similar problem?

I had the same problem with my ls. It took three repaire shops to figure it out. what it ended up being a bad tourque convertor. the reason you hear it out of the intake is because its open under the end take so the noise travels up. Spreading the good word hope this helps.

That sure sounds like an accurate diagnosis to me too.

I had a rattle like that this week and thought it was a torque convertor too, ended up being a catalytic convertor falling apart on the inside. Either way it will probably be expensive, the catalytic convertor was $1600. I think its made from platinum, haha
