The_Mike September 12th, 2005, 02:32 AM Here's the story. I was walking through the one of the ford dealerships in my city car shopping with a buddy and i walked into the presence of a mark VIII
and fell in love :P. i currently own a 93 MTX SHO and a 96 deville, as well as an 85 monte carlo as a rolling project :P. I just wanted to say hi and i hope to be the new owner of this car very soon :). I was also wondering how repairs are on this car and part availability/cost. Just figure i do my homework before i get into something that im prally going to invest a bunch of money into.
Hello again!

Welcome. You didnt mention Generation I or II Mark VIII or base model or LSC. my opion the later the year the better they got.
I just bought a Gen II 1998 LSC and love it. It smokes my wifes modified 2000 Mustang convertible (she cant stand it..;P).
The 95 I had lost the oil pan due to rust - new one on me. Suspension airbags went so I swapped out for standard suspension - easy swap and cheaper than replacing air bag parts here and there. Trans was troublesome but the previous owner never changed the fluid.
The best buy is the 1998 as it has the upgraded trans, HID headlights and updated interior - love the exterior 'puddle' lamps (when you unlock the car using the remote the side mirrors have a lamp underneath that light up the ground around the Mark - nice!!!). LSC models have 10 more HP, monochromatic grill, taillights and I beleve the suspension is tuned different for a firmer ride.
Hope this helps.
