Lincoln Continental Air Ride

Wow, From looking at all the posts the air ride system on all older models is a real pain. Has any one replaced the system with struts? I got a 91 for my son, new driver. Now it's DDAAAAD my car is sitting on the ground. I have only had it for a month and love it but with older cars I knew things were going to go bad, so far the starter, alternater, and battery have been replaced. Anyway so my question is "Will a bag leak on one side make them all go bad or do you think its a compressor problem?" I have tried the obvious "giggle the switch and check the fuses" out side of that until I pick up a Chiltons I don't know. Can Anyone advise me please. :L

Thanks I like the way yours looks. I know I can figure this out, it's cheaper to replace with strts have you had any trouble with them and were they easy to install?

Well I changed out my 1996 continental air ride for struts/springs, last week. The front struts and rear springs were $600.00 from strutmasters and the whole job took me about 5 hours, this included stopping for lunch and a few breaks. Ride is firmer & the car handles better. I miss the soft air ride but not the trouble that goes with it. All in all I would do it again. Strutmasters was easy to order through and the suspension arrived in 3 days. If you need tech support don't call on Saturday as I found out, they arn't there. Get the conversion kit it's worth the money and anyone
with some basic tools can do this.
