Airbag light, brakes

I'm not so sure this Lincoln LS 02 is for old ladies (77) like me on limited income! 20,000 miles on it and it needs front brakes! My sister who has a heavy foot sold it to me for a friendly price, but yikes, a brake job already? Also, the airbag light is on . My car repair guy says to count on an hour and a half labor to diagnose. Do you think the Lincoln dealer would know more about it? Thanks. The car is sure nicer than my old Camry, I have to admit!

welcome:

the airbag light it a fairly common issue - here are some things to try:
1) wiring under the driver's seat -> http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showpost.php?p=23547&postcount=2
2) clockspring -> http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showpost.php?p=51898&postcount=5

the brakes 20,000 seems a little early - but if it just the pads that will not be too many $$$$
