1992 worked for me after a few coasters.... I had to slow the burn speed down.. maybe my burner is crappin.

1992 has the right disk label embedded in the ISO, so it should work right outta box.

hope its close to my 91 for the Conti's sake... it will work wonders for my 92 cougar tho, so it was worth it.

Would get 91 if there was one avail.

You need to get a copy of WinISO and use it to change the volume lable of the .iso file from New Disc to 93_94C11.

You don't have to burn the CDs to see if they work, just download Daemon-tools Here (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/portal/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5) and use that to mount the images without burning them..

MichiganTeddyBear

your right about the Daemon tools.. use it all the time.. but with dialup at home, and highspeed at work, I chose to make a coaster for my copy.

I am able to download the 97 truck file file however when I extract it roxio opens up to burn it to a cd and it says the file is not valid. Its not roxio because I downloaded 96 for my car and it worked fine and burnt to a cd. anyone else try this file?

1996 works fine.

I mirrored the site for backup, its 4.7GB of ISO image files. They can be mounted as a virtual drive or burned to a CD. All of them actually fit on a DVD if anyone is interested.

What would you use to open it when you download it as an iso file?

type in deamon tools on google and download it. After it is downloaded,on the bottom right of your screen, there will be an icon. Click that and find the iso file you want to download. Then go on my computer and click on the F drive (on my computer, your might be different). then click INSTALL. if you have any question just post.

Is that link for windows xp? I downloaded it, and it wouldn't work. I am at work right now, using windows 98.
Can I use Roxio, and just burn it to a cd?

bufordtpisser
December 2nd, 2005, 02:57 PM
Yes, you can burn the image with any CD burning software that supports the burning of ISO files. Then you will just have to insert the CD any time you need to view the manual.

I guess that I have been the computer industry too long. I did not think anyone but third world countries used Windows 98 anymore. I have not used it in over 5 years.

My parts catalog at work will not operate on anything other than windows 98. I use window XP at home.
I will try Roxio later tonight from home.
Thanks.

I got it copied onto a disc with roxio. I can't figure out how to view it now.

When I go my computer>E: drive, it says files currently on this disc: 95car14.iso. I double click that it says the same thing on the next screen, but a different "icon". I double click that, roxio opens "untitled data cd project" and it says "the file E:\95car14.iso\95car14.iso" is not a valid cd image file, in a little warning box.
I couldn't use that daemon thing...a warning box came up saying something about it would mess up my "kernel" files, so I got nervous and deleted it. I don't remember exactly what it said.

Update to site:
All downloads now require a use of torrent. The files are no longer available as direct download.

I take it u need to burn the file to a CD or DVD? What is involved in getting these to work? What is ment by "torrents"?

here is how i got it to work now:

1. Go to the website and download the service manual, it will be a .torrent file.

2. Go here and download a bittorrent program called burst http://krypt.dyndns.org:81/torrent/index.phtml?action=download
i think its pretty good, you may differ.

3. After the program is downloaded, install it. Then run the program, go start..all programs... burst.

4. With burst running, go to the "open torrent" tab, in the "torrent file" line click on the picture of the folder and browse to where you downloaded that original .torrent file. Then on the next line pick a spot on your computer to download.

5. Click "start transfer" and the transfer should begin........this might take awhile.

6. After that go to where burst saved the service manual and the folder should be a .iso.zip Go into that folder and the .iso should be there!

7. Now you can start at the steps in the original post. Open whatever CD burning program you have and make sure it can burn .iso and then make sure the volume label is correct and you should be good to go!

A .torrent file is essentially a "pointer" and when you have a bit torrent program the program goes and retrieves that file for you wherever its at.

Well I downloaded what seems to be the 96-99 disc. When it is installing, I get to a area that asks for the 5 digit pacode (Parts and Accesories code.)
