Hello everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to this forum and the proud new owner of a 1998 Mark VIII Custom Edition (I actually take delivery on Friday). I look forward to posting pics as soon as I can, and to learning about potential mods and other advice from all you loyal Ma :V rk VIII owners.

Welcome... And BTW, The CE on the Mark VIII your buying stands for Collectors Edition.
Really nice with wood steering wheel and shifter. Post pics soon... The car is either Ox Blood Red or White... That was the only two colors in which the "CE" was offered.

POST PICS SOON... I LOVE THAT RIDE!!!!!

You are correct. It is "Collectors Edition". Sorry, I had a brain fart. I understand only 1280 of them were made, and I've got number 1248. From what I understand, that means I have the 32nd to last Mark ever made. She's Pearl White with a tan leather interior and every option except the engine block heater. I can't wait to take delivery and open her up on the highway.

I'd do a few checks before WOT on the highway...
Not knowing where your getting it from, when buying a used car I Always change the oil (refill w/good stuff and some Lucas engine treatment).
Usually do a coolent system drain and fill too. I would also add a bottle of Lucas injector cleaner to the tank and find out if possible the last time it had a tranny service... Clearly, the car should be able to be driven fast prior to all this, but I'd be on the safe side... Other than that... Congrats on #1248... Play it straight and box! LOL
