My 96 Conti has a similar problem.Yeah, Auto zones employees are not qualified to help with anything..but they did the free check and I got a code P1131, Lack of upstream heated O2 sensor(bank 1). i bought one for $65.00 and a mechanic installed it for $25.I didnt know the car had 2 upstream sensors at the time, so i dont know if he replaced the right one. The light went on about 100 miles later-resetted it-and went on again about the same mileage.
Still trying to find out where bank 1 is..or if it refers to a location at all.
If someone knows please post as it will help alot of people out.
