I'm new to the forum and found your site trying to solve a problem I'm having witih my 97 conti. When I start the car the warning Check Steering Assist comes on. I loose power steering but i can cut off the car and restart it and it usually fixes. Here in the last few days it just does it while I'm driving. I have been told it could be the rack and pinon. I hope I have that right. Can some one steer me in the right direction....hopefully the ck steering warning won't go off.... :) Thanks for any and all help...

that is very costly to fix if you cant do it on your own
i when to the dealer ship to have mine don
and it was over 900 dollars for parts and labor i think

I was afraid of that... I'm hoping that my SIL can do it for me... maybe save me a few bucks... Thanks so much for your help...
