ok, I got a quote to get the pillars painted next week from the chevy dealership for $160.00 (ford was over 50% more on their quote), and I noticed that you can purchase them fro LSK for about 80 plus shipping,. Can anyone tell me the best way allaround to do this. Thanks

IMHO - go with the inserts - that way over time if they wear down - you can just swap them again.

There was a reason I finally offered this alternative to the high priced dealer. It's much easier and cheaper to get the inserts than have them re-painted.

Best way is to slowly remove the chrome pillars. More than likely the adhesive will remain on the car. DO NOT SCRAP IT OFF! You will damage the surface of the factory b-pillar. I recommend getting some Goo Gone or similar to put on the adhesive to make it easy to peel off. After you get it all off use some wax on the factory b-pillar surface to clean it up. This is what I did when I removed my carbon fiber b-pillars once. Worked good.

yeah over time my black b-pillar covers turned greenish. I am just going to repaint them next go around. I figure it will last at least twice as long since the covers turned green in about 1.5 years.
