I know they got revlimiter and all but some of you had that fixed .
So what is the top speed you done in you Mark VIII??

My limiter was 122, I only went that fast because I knew there was a limiter somewhere and was curious.

157 in my 95

I some how got mine up to 125 ever since only 120.

It was in the car when I bought it. I put 350 bucks in powdercoat on it a couple weeks ago tho. :)

I went over 150 in my 93, So far with the 96 I've only been up to 140 give or take some mph.

i've hit my rev limiter at 135 many times.

Only about 120 a few times but never hit the limiter... Wouldn't doubt that it could still go WAY faster though. Faster I take it, the stronger it feels.

Based on rpm, wheel diameter and gear ratio, 155 was my best, albiet on a downhill run. '93

i got upto 130 on 3 different occasions. for some reason, the car feels like it wants to go more, it is scary sometimes!

I remember my first race in the Mark just got on the interstate and I punched I thought I was doing 90 NOPE 110 already it Smerfing awsome. Guy in his Integra didn't even have a chance to hit the petal it seems.

Fastest I went was yesterday on Route 80 on the way home. I was closing in on 140. (Smoked an Eclipse :)

I've done about 133 on my 93 Mark VIII then let off...

I've only taken my 95 to 120..

I've got a Garmin GPS unit in my car. I would think it's halfway accurate, but could be wrong tho.

The dyno runs were all with the overdrive off in 3rd gear. 3rd gear tops out at 150+ in my car.

how do you have it setup so that you car doesn't shift into OD at 6k? what gears are you running so that you can hit 150 in 3rd? 2.73?

stock 3.27 gears, hits 150+ in 3rd gear at 6600rpm with custom burned SCT chip. :Beer

that's pretty sweet - where can i buy an SCT? Is this the same chip sold by LMS?

how hard is it on the motor to run it at 6600 rpm for a length of time?

There are many vendors that sell SCT chips but i'm pretty sure Geno uses his own software. I got my chip from the ford parts network with all the custom features I wanted for 299. The stock Mark VIII torque converter is not good for over 6500 and the pre 96 4.6 DOHC valve springs are not quite as good as the Beehives. With that being said, I have revved my 4.6 dohc to 6900rpm more than a couple times with no problems. Engine has 158k miles on it with over 100 track passes and is running stronger than a raped ape. I would worry about the 4r70w before I would worry about the engine.

135 MPH bone stock 94', then the limiter kicked in. Never taken the car over 110 since I started modding.

Hmmmm My front rotors are warped so my steering wheel feels like one of those arcade games!

Had mine at 125 for a good clip on the way home from the meet, made crazy time! Nice ride, the more I give him the more he wants, but road was an interstate on a sunday afternoon - I was dang lucky! took a pic at 100, will have to click one at 130 and see what happens after that, will ahve to find a road that I won't get busted on! sweet if he kept going - sweet, I can't wait to see especially with my new tires! I left a little of my rubber in Chitown and by the time I got home, I was lucky to be alive knowing I was doing 125, big dent in the tire tread and some belt showing! Pirelli's now, he should hold on real nice and tight, so far I have felt major diff in take off and slippin his butt around on corners, sweeeet! Will post asap!

125 in my stock 97 lincoln mark8 going down a straight stretch on a back road could have gone faster but ran out of road.
