JERSEYJOE August 12th, 2005, 10:10 AM My 93 has woodgrain inlays on some of the dash and door panels. Are these factory pieces? My right door woodgrain trim is cracked and I want replacement one. I assume if they are factory that Ford does not have them. Any suggestions?????????

No it's not factory. Ford did'nt put wood grain of any type in the mark till around 94'.
Joeychgo August 12th, 2005, 11:51 AM Yes - its all aftermarket.
Here is a company that sells them. They sell several kits for the 93 based on if you have traction control and f you have jbl sound. You might be able to match what you have so you dont have to replace the whole kit, but its likely you'll have to remove all the wood you ahve now and replace it with new. Upside is you can pic from several different finishes.

JoeyLincolnMK8 August 12th, 2005, 12:58 PM yeah i added woodtrim to my 93 a few months back, the distributor offered either a synthentic (fake) or the real wood. i went with the real wood, i figured it was only $100 bucks more, what the hell i am around that price range anyway. the fake wood was around i think $275 and the real wood was $375! the real wood looks good, it brings out the interior a lot more IMHO!

fossten August 17th, 2005, 08:28 PM I thought the cupholder lid and ashtray lid looked fake; that's why I didn't buy it.
Russo August 17th, 2005, 08:39 PM does anybody know if something similar is available for a gen2?
(can't afford the CE interior pieces, though they do look nice)
MarkVIII93 August 17th, 2005, 10:48 PM Honestly Id rather go with Actual factory pieces, but ive seen a few that looked pretty darn good!

JERSEYJOE August 19th, 2005, 02:31 PM Thanks for the replies. Mine is a bit lighter in color and I would like to match if I could. Worst case scenario if I have to remove all this and change it to a new darker color, how much of a PITA is it to remove and install?
HOW DO I POST PICTURES HERE????????????/
67Continental August 19th, 2005, 02:33 PM i have factory wood, but only on the hvac surround, trac assis surround, ashtray cover and cup holder cover. wish i could replace some of it.

depends on what kind of appoxy was used, my dash kit came with the appox which they had to apply to each peice. now i have seen others that is kind of like a sticker, which you have to peel back the stuff from the trim. if yours was the appoxy, then i would take a hair dryer, and heat it up alil bit not too too hot then it will probably melt the damn thing. while it starts to get hot try to pry the trim loss, it should work. but if you have the "sticker" type then i can not help you there. :Beer
