air suspension replacement question

Bought my Mark VII with conversion coil springs on the front. Now, the air bags in the rear are totally down. And the compressor doesn't work.

Is the ride THAT much better w. air suspension to go to all the trouble and expense to replace/fix rather than just swap out for coil springs?

Never owned a Lincoln before and am now just getting acquainted with air suspension.

I am fairly new here, but I have worked around Fords and Lincoln/Mercury for along time.
For my money it is less costly and better ride to keep the airride than to swap coils. With the exception of the prossesor itself the bags and valves and sensors are not that expensive to replace and can be changed without any special tools.
