My other car has chrome wheels that are less than 1 year new, but they have all this sticky stuff that wont come up when washing them and dulls the finish. My friend told me that there was some purple or pink paste that u can put on them that takes off that crap on your wheels and restores the shine, does anyone know what this product is so i can buy it?

just bought that mother wax for wheels and used it and it sucked big time, still have all the grime on my wheels. It's not abrasive enough to actually get the stuff of the wheels, ANyone know of something like i was describing before?

Has any one heard of using coco cola on the chrome. I heard it but didn't really thought it was going to do any thing. He said it has lots of acid in it or some thing

This isn't just a need of polishing. This is actual grime that appears gunked on. I used a wire brush on it (carefully) and it wouldn't come off. I'll take a pic later and post it.

that's exactly what i'm talking about, not to polish, but the grime that stays on there no matter how much u clean it and dulls the finish

He's right billet is good stuff, I use it on my bike (lotsa chrome) and it's kind of blinding. I've used it to take road tar off the pipes and engine without a problem and it cleans off the grimy stuff that's usually a mix of everything on the road with little effort. It may work on your wheels but I'm not sure. You can buy it almost any motorcycle shop or web site that deals with motorcycle accessories. I'll repost the bike in my garage and you can get an idea of how shiny it gets the chrome.

Try Never-Dull, works great for me removing all that gunk. I forget the name of the company that used to make it, but they were bought by Eagle One, so it is now under the Eagle One brand. Comes in a tin can about pint size. It's a cotton wadding. Tear off a piece and start working it on the surface. You can see it desolving the deposits. Let it dry and wipe with a clean dry cloth. IIRC it's about 5-6 bucks for a tin.

I would recommend Wheel Wax. It protects against brake dust build up. I have been using it on my wheels for over two years and it does great. You can read more about here:

I just use a clean detailers cloth made out of the same stuff cloth diapers are made of that I picked up at AutoZone,it wiped off easily after the chrome was treated. I can't say about brake dust though, I never got a build up of on the bike. I'll try it on the chrome rims I was given when I get the chance to buy more. OR you could always try an SOS pad.

I used MOTHERS polish in a pad. My rims were horrible at first! But even the mothers chrome and mag polish works good! you just gotta work at it!
