Is it true that I need 7 quarts for my V-6? I find it very hard to believe.. any info please?!?

it says that the v-6 needs one more quart that the v-8, why does it need alot of oil?

To lubricate better! Old Jaguar XK-120 (I think) used 12 or 13 quarts.

i had the same problem It doesnt seem right i was at the part store and they told me 6 the 02 manual says 6.9qts i did an oil change and filter change and i olny got 5.5 in there and its full (5-20 mobile one) so let me know if you got any info

you need 6.9 quarts of oil :L

here are the requirements

Required Fuel Unleaded premium fuel only 91 octane
Fuel Tank Capacity 68.2l (18g)
Engine oil capacity Includes filter change 5.7l (6.0 quarts) use motorcraft sae 5w-30 super premium motor oil, ford specification...

that sound about right
but i thout
that my dual over head called for 5 and found out it called for 6 when the mechanic filled it with 5 and it sed low oil level then they decided it was couse of the second cam it had that it needs 6

V8- 6.0 quarts.
